Raised by Vietnamese immigrants, who came to Australia with nothing leaving a post war Vietnam, Ben's experience is shaped by observing them working 3 jobs just so he could have every opportunity. Ben was fortunate enough to develop a strong love for people and work ethic, learning a lot cleaning floors with after school and enduring hardship as their family navigated a harsh bankruptcy. In the end Ben's story is one of hope and possibility, as the result of these difficult times was that his parents could still loan him $5k (their life savings) to help start what would eventually become one of the largest and most disruptive healthcare businesses in Australia and New Zealand.

In 2011 after graduating as a physio, with his parents and him splitting a $10k initial investment Ben started the Life Ready Health Group (LHG) to support some of his closest friends from university. LHG would eventually go onto grow into a platform parent company that owned and operated controlling interests in health care businesses in Australia and New Zealand, with over 600 health care professionals, and servicing over a million consultations a year across their various subsidiaries.

As a result, Ben is widely regarded as one of Australia’s more innovative healthcare leaders and the face of an emerging generation of mission-centric disruptors. Life Ready Health Group’s (LHG) explosive growth is highly attributed to Ben’s ability to mobilise strong teams and unleash creativity. Ben was recognised for his leadership success in EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year in 2015, as well as numerous fast starter and BRW emerging leaders awards. In 2021 Ben successfully sold LHG to HBF the 4th largest health insurance provider in Australia. 

Currently, Ben has two key roles.

Through his family office “Coll Group” he is able to continue his passion of journeying alongside great leaders and various private equity or large in many capacities be it a consultant, board member or investor.

Additionally together with his wife Linda, he also supports their charitable foundation, “Wattle Foundation”, focusing on impactful on initiatives that relate directly to their personal stories.

Raised in Perth, Western Australia, Mark Cartoon’s journey is a testament to hard work, finding a niche, and seeking challenges. After earning a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia (UWA), Mark became a Chartered Accountant in 2010. He spent eight years in the demanding field of audit, where he developed a deep understanding of financial systems and business operations. Seeking a new challenge, Mark moved to the Transactions team at EY, where he spent two years working on complex financial deals

In 2018, Mark joined Life Ready Health Group (LHG) as Chief Financial Officer. His strategic acumen and financial expertise were pivotal in guiding the company through various acquisitions, driving growth, and ultimately preparing for the sale of the business in 2022. Mark's leadership was integral to LHG's success, ensuring financial stability and operational excellence.

Beyond his professional achievements, Mark is a dedicated family man. He is married with three children, and he finds joy in balancing his career with family life. In his spare time, Mark enjoys playing the guitar, traveling to new destinations, and maintaining his fitness through regular exercise.
